The name of the League is "MENDIP TABLE SKITTLES LEAGUE"
The League is run by a Management Committee.
The Committee consists of the following:
Secretary/ Chair
Treasurer
Cup Custodian
1. The Committee runs the day-to-day business of the League.
2. Each team must appoint a Captain, whose name, address and telephone number will be registered with the League for correspondence purposes.
3. Any player wishing to play must be registered by the team Captain with the League and the appropriate fees paid prior to playing.
4. The registration fee will be determined by the committee for the ensuing year for each team entering the league, based on a cost per player registered.
5. League match night is Wednesday. All matches must start at 8.30pm prompt
6. The Home captain is responsible for providing the result of each match to the Secretary within 24 hours of the end of the match. Failure to provide the result to the Secretary within 24 hours will result in the home team forfeiting the match 12 - nil.
7. A team consists of a minimum of the eight players who will take part in a match.
8. Players play in pairs.
9. Each pair constitutes one set.
10. Each set plays three games.
11. Each game consists of playing 91 points down.
12. Each game ends when the first of the opposing pairs scores the exact number required to reach zero.
13. Each game won scores one leg.
14. A match consists of four sets of pairs playing three games each
15. If a team turns up with players short the remaining games can be played by using player/s who have already played but the games are forfeited accordingly, so if team turned up with only 6 or 7 players, they would forfeit the last 3 games, while a team turning up with 4 or 5 players would forfeit the last 6 games, and so on.
16. LEAGUE points are allocated per match as follows:
WIN = 2 points
DRAW = 1 point
LOSE = 0 points
17. At the end of the season the League/ Division Winners will be the team with the highest match points. In the event of a tie in match points, the winner will be the team with the higher Legs Scored For. In the event of a tie on both match points and legs, then a play-off will decide the Winner.
18. All fixtures must be honoured and played on the due date. Any team that does not turn up for a match, with or without giving notice, will forfeit the match 12 nil unless the opposing Captain agrees to rearrange the match to a mutually convenient date. This is totally at the discretion of the opposing Captain.
19. The Committee organises the following competitions:
a) The League Team Cup.
b) The Individual Cup
c) The Pairs Cup
d) The Floppers and Spares Team Cups
20. An entrance fee if any (determined by the Committee) is payable in advance in order to play in the Individuals, the Pairs cups
21. Trophies are awarded on an annual basis to the winners and the runners-up in all competitions, and are to be returned by the end of the year that follows.
22. Additional rules for all knock-out matches:
All knockout games have equal throws.
In the event of a drawn team match the captains must select two of their players to play another set of three legs to decide the winner. If this is also a draw another two pairs must play another set of three legs. If the score is still equal the match is a draw. Inform the League Secretary who will arrange a replay.
In all Individual and Pairs Cup games, in the event of a draw, the players must play a short game of 31 points down to decide the winner. In the event of this being a draw another 31 down must be played and so on until a winner is established.
